EAMTS Conference Commission
Are you interested in the international music
therapy world? Do you like organising bigger events? Do you want to
know more about current research and practises within MT?
We need another EAMTS board member who would like
to run the conference commission together with another member, who
already started. Your tasks would include organising the student
participation at congresses, announcing and writing out the call for
papers, organising accommodation, timetables and program for the
students.
The EAMTS will be part of the European congress 2007
in the Netherlands and we do not want to loose this great chance and
therefore we need YOU !!!

The
Music Therapy Department at the Pavarotti
Music
Centre (PMC), Mostar, Bosnia Heryegovina has an immediate vacancy for a
recently qualified music therapist. The Department is administered by
Musers, an independent International NGO which is currently funded
through Warchild, UK.
The
team currently consists of one senior music therapist/team leader,
one international junior music therapist, two local junior music
therapists and two local assistants. Work is based at the PMC which
has two soundproof therapy rooms, a consultation room for parents, a
children's waiting room, office space and a garden. Work outside the
facility takes place at the Centre for Children and Youths with
Special Needs, Salakovac Refugee Camp, a Psychiatric residence, an
orphanage and special needs centres in other towns.
The
post is an excellent opportunity for a more recently qualified music
therapist to gain work experience in a post conflict environment
where the client base is primarily special needs, or marginalized
children who may also exhibit symptoms of secondary trauma.The
contract period is from September 15, 2006 to February 15, 2007 with
one possible extension to July 15.A
local salary and partial
accommodation is provided as well as a reasonable allowance towards
travels to and from Bosnia Herzegovina. On site supervision is
provided by the on site senior music therapist.
Candidates
must speak fluent English, be well organized and enjoy a team
environment. He or she will work with the local translators who also
act as music therapy assistants. Basic computer skills and a working
knowledge of data base software programs is required.
